Natural Beeswax Birthing Candle
The Birth Candle story
Years ago at the Blessingway ceremony for the birth of my daughter, a good friend gave me the most amazing gift!
A half burned beeswax candle.
A strange gift you may say—but to me it was one of the most touching gifts I had received!
You see that candle was the same candle she had burning at her daughters birth only 4 years earlier. And now it was passed onto me, from one mother to another, as a symbol of the amazing and hard work I was about to go through!
During early Labour I had my husband light the candle and it burned all through the night until 6:40 am when our baby daughter was born. The candle burned next to my birth pool on the fireplace and cast the most beautiful light into the room – I have never forgotten it!
In fact I still have my small stubby birthing candle tucked away with my daughters things as a memory of it burning all through the night.
It is now with much excitement that I bring these amazing candles into our shop for other mothers to use during their birth.
Using Beeswax is an ancient tradition, with bees being a symbol for fertility and love!
We have two choices
The first one is a beautiful orb shape and is about 4” high. The celtic symbol is an ancient one representing the circle of our lives first as a Maiden, then Mother, then Crone.
The second one is what we call a Mothers Tear- because they are endlessly beautiful and much like mothers, any beautiful, sappy, thing will bring a tear to our eyes and there is nothing more beautiful then the sight of our new babies!
Some suggestions:
Buy one for yourself to burn at your birth and then pass it on to a good friend-or
Buy one to burn and then save it for your son or daughter to burn at the birth of their first baby.
Buy one for a good friend for her baby shower as a special gift.
Grandmothers who are not able to attend or be close to their daughters may enjoy lighting one of these candles and keep it burning until they get the call that they have a new grandbaby to celebrate!
The possibilities are endless!
Some health benefits of using Beeswax
Besides smelling heavenly when they are burning beeswax candles are completely non-toxic, non-allergenic and non-carcinogenic.
With its healthful negative ions and warm, halo’d glow that also serves to ‘convect’ debris from your indoor air, our pure cappings beeswax candles are the cleanest burning candles on the planet.
Original Pheylonian candles burn with no smoke (providing the wick is properly trimmed) and actually clean the air in your home each time you use them.
Using paraffin candles in your home, which emits black soot that coats your walls, household furnishings and curtains, not to mention your lungs and skin. It is a proven fact that paraffin, with its associated synthetic scents and other additives, causes headaches, allergic reactions and difficulties with sinuses and lungs, while costing home owners thousands of dollars each year to clean and refurbish their homes
